Pastiche planned and delivered a spectacular two-day King's Coronation Celebration at Smithfield, Stoke-on-Trent, combining Live Screenings, Family Entertainment, complimentary Catering and complete Outdoor Event Production.
Working with multiple Council departments and coordinating everything from Technical Production and Power Generation to Security, Staffing and Guest Facilities, the event showcased Pastiche's expertise in Public Events and Event Management.
Pastiche was commissioned to create and deliver a two-day public celebration at Smithfield, Stoke-on-Trent, marking the Coronation of King Charles III on 6 May 2023.
The objective was to bring the community together to watch the historic Coronation Ceremony, followed by the Coronation Concert on 7 May, within a welcoming outdoor environment.
The event needed to combine large-screen broadcasting with Family Entertainment, complimentary Catering and the essential facilities required for a public gathering.
With the celebration taking place in an outdoor public space, Pastiche was responsible for coordinating the production, suppliers, infrastructure, staffing and operational requirements across both days.

Delivering a public event at Smithfield required extensive planning and coordination with multiple Council departments and other stakeholders.
Pastiche worked through the practical and operational requirements associated with staging a two-day outdoor celebration, coordinating the information and arrangements needed to support the event.
This included supplier liaison, event planning, Risk Assessments, Method Statements and relevant Insurance documentation, alongside the logistical requirements of installing and operating the event infrastructure.
The coordination involved bringing together different responsibilities and requirements while maintaining a consistent approach to the overall event.
This demonstrated Pastiche's ability to manage the additional planning and communication involved in delivering events within public spaces.

At the centre of the celebration was a large 6m x 3m Outdoor LED Video Wall, providing a focal point for the live Coronation broadcasts. Pastiche supplied and coordinated the weatherproof screen, supporting Trussing, professional Sound and PA Systems, and the technical equipment required for the live screenings.
A dedicated media system and wired internet arrangements supported the broadcasts, while Technical Crew remained on-site throughout the event. As the outdoor location required independent power for the production, Pastiche supplied a 40kVA Generator, including fuel, power distribution, cabling and protective fencing.
The technical arrangements also included the required electrical safety sign-off, together with installation, operation and removal of the equipment. The result was a professionally managed Outdoor Screening environment designed to allow the community to enjoy both Coronation events together.

Alongside the Coronation Screening, Pastiche coordinated a programme of Family Entertainment and complimentary Catering for the celebrations on Saturday 6 May. Two Face Painters provided entertainment for children, while two King's Guard Stilt Walkers and two Flower Dress Stilt Walkers mixed and mingled with Guests, creating colourful photo opportunities.
The catering programme included 500 freshly prepared Wood-Fired Pizzas, 500 complimentary drinks from a Pimm's and Prosecco Bar, and 500 Ice Cream Tubs served from an Ice Cream Bike. Coronation Bunting and Flags helped create a patriotic atmosphere throughout the event space.
By combining live broadcasting, roaming Performers and complimentary refreshments, Pastiche created a community-focused celebration with entertainment and hospitality for visitors of different ages.

Pastiche coordinated the essential operational infrastructure required to support the two-day public celebration.
A professional Security Team was arranged to provide 24-hour coverage, protecting the event area and equipment throughout the installation, event and removal period.
Portable Toilet facilities included eight standard units, a six-urinal facility and two accessible toilets, with servicing arrangements coordinated across the event.
Dedicated Event Staff and Litter Pickers helped maintain the public areas, while the technical infrastructure included protective fencing around the Generator and associated equipment.
These arrangements formed an important part of the wider Event Management programme, ensuring that practical facilities, site maintenance and Security were coordinated alongside the entertainment and broadcasts.

Pastiche successfully delivered the two-day King's Coronation Celebration at Smithfield, Stoke-on-Trent, bringing together Live Screenings, Family Entertainment, Catering and extensive outdoor infrastructure.
Our team coordinated the technical production, Generators, Screen and Sound Systems, Security, Event Staffing, Toilets, supplier arrangements and overall Event Management.
